Liquid aluminum 3D printer

My friends and I built this FDM 3D printer for liquid aluminum in 2017. It used a liquid-cooled induction hotend and directly extruded molten aluminum. We ran an electric arc between the build plate and the bead coming from the extruder to break the oxide layer that forms on the aluminum, the same method welders use.
