Giant 3D printer

2018

I built this 8'x8'x4' 3D printer in 2017. The printer featured over 100 3D-printed parts and a custom 1000W 6mm print head. It used 10mm HDPE filament recycled from milk jugs by a homemade extruder. The filament extruder produced filament with a tolerance of ±0.2mm at about 25cm/min. The printer's control system used a modified version of Marlin running on an Arduino Mega and a RAMPS board rewired to interface with larger stepper drivers.
